We recently discovered Pixie Dust Decor and were immediately taken with their sweet, classic baby goods. Pixie Dust sells everything from crib bedding to tuffets to aprons for little aspiring chefs to fabric by the yard--all manufactured in the USA.
This week we're giving away a gift bundle from Pixie Dust, full of precious goodies that we're sure are almost as cute as the baby they'll end up with. The bundle includes two blankets, four burp cloths and three bibs, in the aqua pagoda pattern seen here and a lattice print.
Even if you don't have a baby, can't you think of a little one who deserves these as a gift? Enter to win by leaving a comment telling us about your favorite tip for decorating a nursery.
If you don't win, you can still get Pixie Dust items for a discount. The online shop is kindly offering a 20% discount to ShelterPop readers through Friday, Nov. 20. Just enter code "shelterpop" at checkout.
The prizes come in the unisex aqua pagoda pattern. Photo: Pixie Dust Decor

Painting the room in soft calming colors
ReplyChoose a theme before doing any decorating or painting. That way everything in your room will match.
ReplyUse warm, soft colors.
ReplyUse soft colors and keep it simple. Everything will come together wonderfully when you don't over do it.
ReplyPlan something that will grow with your child and won't have to be completely re-done very soon. (And something YOU like to look at since for a while you'll be the only one who really cares!)
ReplyMy tip is to pick neutral pieces that can be mixed and matched. For example, I would recommend a buttercup yellow nursery rug for baby instead of a pink one with "princess" written on it. You can then reuse & rearrange the pieces for your next baby.
ReplyConsider using a natural non textile flooring that can easily be kept clean and dust free. Marmoleum click floating floor is the first flooring to receive the asthma & allergy friendly Certification Mark. You can learn about this certification on: http://www.asthmaandallergyfriendly.com/find-certified-products.html
ReplyPick a theme and a wall color first!
ReplyRemember to keep it childproof. The baby grows up! No stacks of things on the floor - nothing that can be knocked over or pulled down when the child learns to crawl. Keep it simple and under-decorate. You'll be grateful later. Safety first!
ReplySimplicity!
ReplyMake the room magical. Make it somewhere you want to be at all hours of the day or night.
ReplyPersonalize each baby's room. Make it special for each child.
ReplyMy favorite nursery decorating tip is to use a roman shade instead of miniblinds to block window light. You can take the shade down to clean much easier than miniblinds.
ReplyI used flashcards as cheap and easy artwork. I put up the Charlie Harper alphabet cards above my son's crib.
ReplyI try to keep an educational theme that replects each childs personality and grows with them
ReplyThank you for the giveaway. When creating a nursery, use unisex colors and decor just in case the sex diagnosis was incorrect.
ReplyKeep it simple. Use of geometric shapes and bold colors is better for infants than pastels and lots of detail.
ReplyRemember that the baby will get older so pick something that doesn't have to be redecorated every year.
ReplyUse primary colors and make it a fun and enjoyable room to be in.
ReplyMy favorite tip is to keep it simple, use warm colors and don't go overboard with a loud theme.
