Pick a theme then look around before you commit---I chose ducks---told everyone ducks---then started shopping and fell in love with lambs---of course for my baby shower everyone gave me ducks---Oh well nothing wrong with lambs and ducks!

My tip- don't spend a fortune on furniture and accessories that will be outgrown in a couple of years- invest in good pieces that grow with the child.

Keep it simple! With my daughter I wanted all kinds of stuff in there, and it looked way too cramped!

Keep it comfortable for mom and baby. A good chair that fits both nicely and cushioned well will get a lot of use when nursing and beyond.

I like to keep things simple. It's much easier to clean a simply decorated room than an extravagant one.

If you cannot afford fancy art; go to the photo lab and get some of your own photos blown upon! I bet a baby would be just as happy with a huge picture of your own dog as with an expensive art print.

My tip is to keep the color of the room on the lighter side and keep things simple!

You should definitely go with a paint color that is one that the child will be able to grow up with...not one that they will hate when they grow older.

I think that when decorating that you shouldn't go overboard with a theme, having every single item of a certain character or whatever your them is. It just becomes too much. Keep it simple.

My favorite is color, color, color -- don't get locked into baby blue or pastel pink though i love them in the goods shown). Bright colors stimulate. I also would stay away from mass-produced cartoon characters, but that's just me. : )

Consider your style in decorating a nursery. You will be spending many hours in the room, so make sure it is relaxing and enjoyable for you. Relaxed mother makes for a happy baby.

Choose simple colors for wall, crib and whatnot and then accessorize with whatever theme you wish. That way, when you want to change themes, you're only changing out accessories.
