Underwater hotels? They've been done. Igloo inns? Yawn. But a trailer-park boutique hotel? Now you're talking!
El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas is setting the new hotel standard with its 15-acre property that is set to open the first week of November. Along with 30 trailers, the property will also house hammocks and yurts (a type of teepee) available by the night, along with part-time residential living, a greenhouse and rammed-earth shacks for artists and craftspeople to sell their wares.
But this is no ordinary trailer park.
Founder Liz Lambert (the mastermind also behind cult favorite Hotel San José in Austin), is quite the connoisseur of hipster ambiance. An outdoor pool, wood-fired hot tubs and outdoor fire pits will surely appeal to those seeking to commune with their bohemian sides as well as plain old sybarites.
The first phase of ten trailers is set to open in early November. Cross-country trippers and art lovers planning a pit stop in Marfa (where artist Donald Judd's foundation is also based) are sure to have plenty to be happy about.

I'm pretty sure that this is the coolest trailer park around.
