Marcel Wanders For Target

The name Marcel Wanders may not ring a bell, but we'd be willing to bet you've seen his designs. The Dutch designer first became known in the design world for his Knotted Chair for Droog Design in 1995. In the fourteen years since, Wanders has collaborated with B&B Italia, Kartell, Cappellini and Moooi. His works are in the collections of both the MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Wanders latest project isn't a fancy hotel interior or a high-priced piece of furniture, it's a cheap-chic line of holiday decorations and tabletop items for Target. The first Wanders pieces appeared in Target stores two weeks ago and the rest of the collection was slated to arrive this past weekend. (Currently, only a handful of the items appear on Target.com.)

The Marcel Wanders For Target line includes dinnerware, ceramic vases, pillar candles, stockings, ornaments and wrapping paper. The full collection features more than 40 items ranging in price from $3 for place card holders to $40 for a Christmas tree skirt. The best part about many of the items is that they don't scream holiday -- almost everything in the line (except stockings and other holiday-specific items) can be used year round!

ShelterPop's Pick: The trompe l'oeil tapers ($15 for two) and pillars ($20 each) that look like candlesticks but are 100% wax.
