As the weather gets chilly, I'm thinking of switching up my wall decor in hopes of something a it more seasonal and festive. I'd like to switch out my artwork for some deep greens and blues and a few mustard accents, just to welcome in the cooler season. And while I'm at it, I think I'll change out a few of my frames with these easy tips on how to hang frames:
A: Arrangement
It's all in how you arrange it, isn't it? Whether you're a fan of symmetry or all-over framing, find a look that suits your taste and arrange it well. For a big impact, experiment with nontraditional arrangements, such as circular montages or something unexpected and scattered.
B: Bold
Forget hanging a photo here or there. Go bold or go home. Try covering an entire wall with various sizes, shapes and colors of frames, or simply stick with a symmetrical montage. Whatever you do, don't get too crazy --- try to keep one medium the same in every arrangement, whether it be color or size. You don't want your living room to look like a thrift store!
C: Collection
Keep the gallery themselves as part of a larger context by being mindful of what you're hanging. Stick to similar tones and shades of photoraphy, or focus on artwork from a similar time period. Be sure you maintain some consistency to avoid a look that's clearly been thrown together at the last minute.
With these easy steps, your wall will be spruced up in no time!
