Traveling is usually a hassle and full of stress. I know I'm not looking forward to traveling for my next trip, which includes three planes and over 15 hours of flying (and that's just one way!). What if you could make traveling a little more comfortable by bringing along a piece of home? That's just what designer Erik De Nijs of Nieuwe Heren was thinking when he designed Suited Case, a set of suitcases designed for two people that can be assembled into a loveseat.
Consisting of 2 pieces of hand luggage and 2 larger suitcases, the concept came to Erik from research on nostalgia while traveling.
"When a familiar object from home is taken with you on a trip you feel much more at ease. And which object is more familiar then your own comfortable couch," explains the designer. The fabrics for the luggage were chosen to emphasize the feeling of home and to complement each other in a lively way.
I know that after staying in strange beds, I often long for the comfort of my own bed! So, I hope he decides to create suitcase beds next!
