Armstrong's floor and wall planner
Thinking about installing hardwood floors? Imagine seeing how each style or color looks in various rooms before you even go to the store!
Our favorite feature: The most useful feature of this online design tool is the wall color changer. The best way to see how wood floors will look in your home is to check them out with different wall colors.
MyDeco's free online design tools
MyDeco's design community is awesome. In addition to the thousands of inspirational gallery and products, MyDeco offers 3 tools: A Room Designer, Moodboard creator and a Photo Decorator.
Our favorite feature: The "Decorate A Photo" tool is great because you can upload a photo of a room and redesign it right there on your computer.
This online tool is so easy, but it is very robust. If you're looking for a room planner/designer with a lot of great in-depth features then this might be the one for you. It's got everything from structural features to 3D furniture, all the way to shrubbery!
Our favorite feature: The detailed list of available options, including party planning and sports equipment.
Autodesk Project Dragonfly
This online design tool might have a strange name, but when it comes to use, there's nothing strange about it. It's very user-friendly with drag-and-drop functionality. I just wish there were more decor options.
Our favorite feature: The gallery of rooms you can use as your starting point if you feel lost.
Kitchen Planner Online or CabinetLiquidators Kitchen Planner
Planning a kitchen without professional help can be a little tricky. Luckily there are a few good online design tools for free kitchen planning. The two listed above are different, yet great options when you need some help arranging your space.
Our favorite tip: Make sure you measure twice and order cabinets once!
