Oh, Naperville. Close to Chicago, yet oh so far from my price range. Take this
craftsman style beauty, for instance. Honestly -- those pillars? That white? I can't handle the regality of it all.

Well, except for the master suite, of course, as it's a bit of a snooze-fest. Don't worry; I'll be changing that in a snap!
Let's switch out the matchy-matchy furniture and boxy headboard for something more worthy of this home's charm... say, a
canopy bed? Much, much better. I'd add a lovely
Victorian-inspired bird duvet for some added femininity and a masculine
Colette bench for the bed's footer.
Next, we'll add a patterned
laser cut runner underneath the bench, coordinated with a
damask paneled curtain. To reflect all of the accents and textures, I'd hang a trio of
antique hand mirrors in the room's corner.
Of course, every great room needs a touch of symmetry, so I'd pair a set of
Tessa nightstands with
traditional table lamps on either side of the canopy bed.
A touch Parisian, no? Ahh... we'll always have Naperville.

Inappropriate and nonsensical name for a tragically ugly house.
ReplyThis isn't even news. The people who push this crap on us need to take a long hard look at their lives and decide whether or not they are even remotely useful to the future of the human race. If you are in marketing or advertising, kill yourself.
Replywhite pillars? who thinks WHite pillars aren't normal? Hey editor, Fire the person. It looks like a beautiful home to me. And I love the exterior color. Shows what I know, huh. Maybe it should have been Torquise with purple pillars.
ReplyI don't live far from Naperville and this house is not unique to the midwest, it is probably overpriced like everything else in the Midwest. Its an intresting house but I don't think jazzing up the bedroom is not what this house needs, , I don't know what it needs but I admit it. Personally, the bedroom looked ok to me.
