Interior designer Kelly Wearstler is the decorator of choice for the luxury Viceroy hotel chain. With three Viceroy designs under her belt (Miami, Santa Monica and Palm Springs), it's no surprise that
Wearstler was chosen to create the interiors for The Viceroy's first international location in the Caribbean.
Located in Anguilla in the British West Indies,
The Viceroy Anguilla consists of 166 villas, an 8,000 square foot spa, a 140-seat restaurant and, of course, an infinity pool. All of this is set on 35 acres where two bays meet along 3,200 feet of Caribbean beachfront. Wearstler was blessed with a wonderful canvas -- the architecture of Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo and outdoor spaces by noted landscape designers, George Girvin and Associates. The strong, geometric lines of the space are furnished in Wearstler's signature style of eclectic furnishings and
touches of luxury.

Wearstler's design for The Viceroy Anguilla is more in keeping with the design of
her Malibu beach home, than
her Santa Monica hotel design.

Instead of the harsh, black, white and bold colored look of the past, the new hotel is swathed in a palette of subdued tones of white, sand and brown, with touches of gold and metallics. Furnishings include driftwood lamps and petrified wood tables.

Kelly Wearstler is currently working on two more Viceroy locations slated to open in 2010. We can't wait to see what she does with Viceroy Snow Mass in Colorado and Viceroy Mayakoba, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

I think I have a good design sense. But when I see what a real designer can do to a space I always find something I like but would never had thought to do. Kelly Wearstler's Viceroy choices are no exception. Beautiful and calming. Every thing a hotel should be.
