Martha Stewart and Home Depot are getting even cozier. As we reported earlier this year, Martha Stewart is launching a line of home products at Home Depot in January 2010. According to Home Depot, the Martha-Home Depot partnership won't stop with the outdoor living, home organization and home décor goods initially announced. Home Depot will also start selling Martha Stewart-branded paint and cleaning products in 2010. Fans of Ralph Lauren paint, take note, the Martha Stewart line will replace Home Depot's Ralph Lauren paint collection come March.
Previously, Martha Stewart had been selling paint through Lowe's stores, but their agreement with Lowe's ended in September. (Once upon a time, Kmart sold Martha's paints, making this her third paint partnership.) According to ABC news, AkzoNobel, a Netherlands-based company, will manufacture the paints (Valspar did previously). The new paint will include 280 colors that can be mixed in multiple finishes and will be available in 8-oz. samples.
The cleaning products, which will be known as The Martha Stewart Clean line, will consist of approximately ten cleaning products which will all meet Home Depot's "Eco Options" environmental qualifications, which is not too surprising, since the line is being made in eco-friendly Boulder, CO.
According to the Associate Press, "Home Depot said other Martha Stewart product lines now in development will follow." We can't wait to hear what they will be!

Take a look at the ingredient list on the bottles of Martha Stewart Clean and then do a seach on those ingredients to see how "green" these products really are.
ReplyWhat happened to her paint?? The dark colors such as the reds, golds, browns are AWFUL! They go on thin and it takes 4-5 coats to cover. I am soooo bummed that Home Depot got rid of Ralph Lauren paints for Marthas. I am a interior design consultant and will not be recommending Marthas paint, especially the darker colors...the product is awful. LOVE the color tones but the actual product is very inferior.
