Tiger Woods' Real Estate Portfolio: What's Up for Grabs in a Divorce
Categories: Celebs, Famous Homes, Celebrity Homes
Given that Tiger and Elin's private life has been, for better or worse, pried open and put on display for the world to gasp over, snicker at, and go all bug eyed about, ShelterPop thought it might be a good time to have a good old fashioned real estate wrap up of the high-priced properties that fill Tiger and Elin's fat real estate portfolio.
In other words, these are the homes that would likely be up for grabs were the couple to go splitsville.
Windermere Mansion
In July of 2000, Mr. Woods purchased a 6,692-square-foot mansion behind the gates of the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Florida, an upscale suburb of Orlando. This 8-bedroom and 9-bathroom house is where the Woods family currently resides and where Woods recently ran his Cadillac Escalade into a tree and a fire hydrant at the foot of his driveway, inflaming the blazing inferno of publicity over his alleged affair(s).
"Slumming" in Windermere
Way back in 1996, prior to buying his current residence, Woods spent $513,800 on a much more modest house in Windermere that, according to property records, has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in just under 3,000 square feet. Property records for this house also show the name of Woods' father, so it's quite possible this house was occupied by the elder Mister Woods, who passed away from cancer in 2006.
A Swing Through Hoity-Toity Hobe Sound
By all accounts, Tiger and Elin did not plan on raising their family in Windermere. Beginning in 2002, when the wildly rich golf great laid out a spine-tingling $22 million on a 4-acre waterfront estate, Woods began buying pricey properties on S. Beach Road in hoity-toity Hobe Sound, Florida. By late 2006, Woods had snatched up four more adjacent properties that total more than 10 acres, stretching from the Intracoastal Waterway all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and altogether cost, according to property records, a stroke-inducing $44.5 million. Woods then proceeded to knock down at least one of the houses – an 8 bedroom, 13 bathroom, 13,000+-square-foot, Bahama style mansion. He was making way for a sprawling, not yet completed, modern mansion reported to spread across 9,700 square feet in two structures connected by a glassed-in walkway.
Property records can sometimes be convoluted, complicated and plain ol' difficult to decipher, but from the looks of things, in addition to the two mansions in Windermere and the not yet completed estate in Hobe Sound on Jupiter Island, records indicate that in December of 2007 Woods picked up two properties on Rocking Horse Road in Jupiter, Florida for a total of $2.3 million. It's unknown what purpose or for whom these residences were purchased.
His Western Portfolio
Outside of Florida, according to property records, Woods owns a couple of condos in coastal southern California. One is located in Manhattan Beach and the other, which he snagged in 2004 for $3 million, is in nearby Newport Beach. Records also reveal that Tiger shelled out $2.75 million for a vacant lot in the 3 Creek Ranch fishing and golf community near the posh ski resort town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Tiger's Dubai and Elin's Swedish Escape
Outside of the United States, it has been widely rumored and reported that the golf guru is building a massive mansion in Dubai at the Tiger Woods Dubai golf resort development, which will claim the very first Tiger Woods-designed golf course in the world. Woods is also reported to be an investor in a planned luxury housing development in the Bahamas. Tiger and Elin also reportedly keep a luxury apartment near the Karlaplan plaza in the leafy and swanky Óstermalm neighborhood in Stockholm, and a report in this week's New York Daily News revealed that Elin recently added to the couple's property portfolio when she allegedly spent $2.29 million for a house on an island near Stockholm, although it is highly unlikely the purchase has anything to do with the couple's recent brouhaha.

Hey Gurlie,
What makes you think she deserves all he's got? Tiger had most of his career carved out before she even showed up on the scene. Sure
she's entitled to something but not all. Just for some bed springs squeaking? If your married your husband has probably done it all ready..tsk-tsk.

Sounds like sour grapes...are u saying u wish it were u there?
luvtipsy 12-19-2009 @ 12:15PM
Yeah, maybe the cleaner won't be able to get it clean as it got stains on it already. I felt bad for the kids. They didn't put themselves in this messy world.

Well it just goes to show why a man should NEVER MARRY. I mean christ, don't we all wish we could just spread your legs and demand payment for it? Oh wait isn't that illegal? LOL at all STUPID men who are foolish enough to marry thereby putting their financial future in jeopardy.

Just because the man plays a spectator sport for a living doesn't mean that the rest of his life is a TV show. Leave the couple alone; they are real people experiencing real emotional pain right now. Sheesh...talk about no class.

Let's leave them alone. We'll know soon enough. It's their business anyway not ours!
Russell 12-15-2009 @ 10:16PM
Let's be clear about something. Tiger Woods inflected the pain here. He is the person who created this mess. He is a fraud and a liar. If he is hurting it of his own doing. Elin is the victim in this situation and deserves any and all sympathy and consideration from the public.
Catherine Bossi 12-16-2009 @ 12:35PM
Mommy,
I totally agree with you. This is no business to anyone. He did what he did and he will deal with the repercussions. The continuing comments of others of what they want to happen to him is sad...very sad.
ROZ 12-17-2009 @ 9:57PM
Russell,
You cant be serious! She married Tiger when he was already Tiger! She did not meet him in grade school before he was Tiger. She met him just like the others and had her hand out just like them. She brought nothing to the table that enhanced his condition, but he sure has enhanced her lifestyle. If she was not with him she would still be that obscure nanny and (cough) model. She has dealt with his lifestyle for years and would still be doing so if not for the accident that made her pretentiously happy marriage to Tiger exposed to the public as the farse it is.
I need you to buy a ticket on the clue bus.

Hope all that strange was worth it, big guy.

Hey idiot - there's a Pre-Nup. None of the real estate is "up for grabs in a divorce."

HEY MR. ATTORNEY GUY-FYI ANY PROPERTY OWNED PRIOR TO THE MARRIAGE WOULD BE HIS HOWEVER ANY ACQUIRED AFTER THEY MARRIED WOULD INDEED BE 'UP FOR GRABS'!! YOU BETTER RECHECK YOUR LAW BOOKS! I'M NOT EVEN A LAWYER AND HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH A DIVORCE EITHER AND EVEN I KNOW THAT!!! PRETTY COMMON KNOWLEDGE TO ANYONE WITH EVEN A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF MATRIMONIAL LAW!!!
Lyri 12-15-2009 @ 11:30PM
Hey Matrimonial Lawyer (alias Idiot:)
Forget the prenup. She could charge him with criminal assault for having sex with her when he was having all those condom-free sex relationships with skans. I mean, c'mon? What has he exposed her to? HPV is probably a certainty. Isn't his wife lucky to look forward to cervical cancer, among other things.
Kelly 12-15-2009 @ 11:35PM
Considering you're an attorney you of all people should realize that what is listed in that prenup is what matters. For all you know she stipulated that if he were to be unfaithful to her, the prenup would be null and void. You sound like a typical attorney who thinks he/she knows everything without getting all of the facts first.
libsrsocialists 12-16-2009 @ 1:25AM
He is a pig! All those women he sleep with refusing to wear a condom, then go home and sleep with his wife! yuck, she will have to go through this hell every time she gets tested for std's! pre-nup let's see how that pre-nup stands up in court! She'll get more then what the pre-nup states! There's going to be lots more women coming out of the woodwork! He apparently had no problems sleeping around if he cheated this many times( is it up to a dozen so far) he sleep with anything that would have him!! He is a revolting
person, I feel bad for the children.
lillian 12-16-2009 @ 6:12AM
redhead, it sounds like a little jealousy there. If she gets a dime or 5 million, she deserves it. If she didn't love him she would have left long time ago. He's a pig, period. She is beautiful, does that bother you? I fell sorry for her, the shame he has done. I hope he never plays golf again. 14 women? and if he didn't get caught he's be on 18 by now. He was up at Turning Stone tournament , 3 months ago and had a woman there with him and it was not his wife.
