Tiger Woods' Real Estate Portfolio: What's Up for Grabs in a Divorce

Categories: Celebs, Famous Homes, Celebrity Homes

Given that Tiger and Elin's private life has been, for better or worse, pried open and put on display for the world to gasp over, snicker at, and go all bug eyed about, ShelterPop thought it might be a good time to have a good old fashioned real estate wrap up of the high-priced properties that fill Tiger and Elin's fat real estate portfolio.

In other words, these are the homes that would likely be up for grabs were the couple to go splitsville.

Windermere Mansion
In July of 2000, Mr. Woods purchased a 6,692-square-foot mansion behind the gates of the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Florida, an upscale suburb of Orlando. This 8-bedroom and 9-bathroom house is where the Woods family currently resides and where Woods recently ran his Cadillac Escalade into a tree and a fire hydrant at the foot of his driveway, inflaming the blazing inferno of publicity over his alleged affair(s).

"Slumming" in Windermere
Way back in 1996, prior to buying his current residence, Woods spent $513,800 on a much more modest house in Windermere that, according to property records, has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in just under 3,000 square feet. Property records for this house also show the name of Woods' father, so it's quite possible this house was occupied by the elder Mister Woods, who passed away from cancer in 2006.

A Swing Through
Hoity-Toity Hobe Sound
By all accounts, Tiger and Elin did not plan on raising their family in Windermere. Beginning in 2002, when the wildly rich golf great laid out a spine-tingling $22 million on a 4-acre waterfront estate, Woods began buying pricey properties on S. Beach Road in hoity-toity Hobe Sound, Florida. By late 2006, Woods had snatched up four more adjacent properties that total more than 10 acres, stretching from the Intracoastal Waterway all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and altogether cost, according to property records, a stroke-inducing $44.5 million. Woods then proceeded to knock down at least one of the houses – an 8 bedroom, 13 bathroom, 13,000+-square-foot, Bahama style mansion. He was making way for a sprawling, not yet completed, modern mansion reported to spread across 9,700 square feet in two structures connected by a glassed-in walkway.

Property records can sometimes be convoluted, complicated and plain ol' difficult to decipher, but from the looks of things, in addition to the two mansions in Windermere and the not yet completed estate in Hobe Sound on Jupiter Island, records indicate that in December of 2007 Woods picked up two properties on Rocking Horse Road in Jupiter, Florida for a total of $2.3 million. It's unknown what purpose or for whom these residences were purchased.

His Western Portfolio
Outside of Florida, according to property records, Woods owns a couple of condos in coastal southern California. One is located in Manhattan Beach and the other, which he snagged in 2004 for $3 million, is in nearby Newport Beach. Records also reveal that Tiger shelled out $2.75 million for a vacant lot in the 3 Creek Ranch fishing and golf community near the posh ski resort town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Tiger's Dubai and Elin's Swedish Escape
Outside of the United States, it has been widely rumored and reported that the golf guru is building a massive mansion in Dubai at the Tiger Woods Dubai golf resort development, which will claim the very first Tiger Woods-designed golf course in the world. Woods is also reported to be an investor in a planned luxury housing development in the Bahamas. Tiger and Elin also reportedly keep a luxury apartment near the Karlaplan plaza in the leafy and swanky Óstermalm neighborhood in Stockholm, and a report in this week's New York Daily News revealed that Elin recently added to the couple's property portfolio when she allegedly spent $2.29 million for a house on an island near Stockholm, although it is highly unlikely the purchase has anything to do with the couple's recent brouhaha.
