Why Didn't I Think of That?: A Christmas Ornament Lamp

When it comes to holiday decorating, I'm all for subtle touches. Rather than decorating sections of my home with a holiday tree, outdoor lighting and a wreath, I normally infuse the holidays into my entire home by switching artwork, winter throws and glassware. So naturally, I love this image I spotted last week.

A sweet and simple touch is, in my opinion, more important than everything else. In this case, a few green ornaments dress up an everyday glass lamp -- easy to do and entirely free! By placing a few complementary gifts around the lamp, a holiday montage is born.

This year, why not focus on decorating your entire home, rather than a few select locations? Get creative and decorate with inexpensive items, such as ribbons, gift embellishments and items you already own around the home. Of course, don't forget to use gifts as decor! Choose a gift wrap that complements your home's hues for an easy decor solution.
