Home Furnishing News reports that Target has purchased the Smith & Hawken brand for an undisclosed sum from Smith & Hawken Ltd., a subsidiary of The Scotts Miracle–Gro Company. (Home Accents Today notes that Scotts purchased Smith & Hawken in 2004 for $68.5 million.)
Target has sold Smith & Hawken branded merchandise since 2006. The Smith & Hawken for Target line includes outdoor furniture, gardening and decor all designed in Smith & Hawken's timeless style.
In a statement about the acquisition, Kathee Tesija, Target's executive V.P. of merchandising said, "We're thrilled to own such an admired and iconic brand. We believe the Smith & Hawken brand complements our existing portfolio of owned brands and provides our guests with another compelling reason to shop Target."
We're thrilled that Target's keeping this well-loved gardening brand alive.

Smith & Hawken product line was expensive but very good quality. Target product line was/is CHEAP CHINESE MADE CRAP!!!!! Why would they ruin their name(S&H) by developing a poorly made line of CRAP for Target other than CORPORATE GREED!!! I stopped buying S&H as soon as they went into Target because the name became nothing but garbage.
ReplyDid you report the comments like I just did?? Won't stop unless reported you know!!
ReplyThank you jfr! I went back and reported them. Do you think AOL is actually doing anything about them? I see them on every comment board I see on AOL! It has been going on for a very long time.
ReplySo glad you commented on these messages that have nothing to do with the topic. I don't have a lot of time to waste reading through them to get to some comments about the true topic I am interested in, so, like you, I went back and reported them and hope others will do it also!
Just hit the ! key myself as a matter of fact.

ReplyI completely agree !! If I listened to my friends, I would not be on AOL and maybe, just maybe, would not have to put up with this nonsense. There are plenty of comments that have been deleted. WHY NOT THESE AGGRAVATING ADS? I report everyone I see.
