Diane von Furstenberg to launch home line with Springs Global

Home Furnishing News reports that Diane von Furstenberg has inked a deal with Springs Global to design a line of home furnishings products, including, bedding, bath and tabletop. Diane von Furstenberg housewares? Be still my, heart!

This is von Furstenberg's first full, freestanding home collection. (HFN notes she once had a line in the 1970s with Sears -- hello, new eBay search!) In an exclusive interview, von Furstenberg told HFN, "Since my business is so textiles driven, this is a natural for me. But what had held me back is that the distribution of home products is so odd."

Huh, wonder what she meant?

We can't wait to see what the line looks like! Will it take its cue from her signature wrap dress prints or will it more resemble her own interior style? Will it reflect the gleaming, glossy and modern look of her flagship store in the Meat Packing District? If her partnership with the Rug Company (above) is any indicator, it will be a more subdued version of classic DVF style.

DVF fans, don't hold your breath. The line won't debut until spring 2011.
