Internet, meet your new HGTV personality. Credit: HGTV
Writing daily on her blog Dooce.com, Armstrong provides parenting anecdotes and a fresh perspective on a variety of topics from postpartum depression to Britney Spears -- and everything (truly, we mean everything) in between. So it's no wonder that HGTV swooped up the Salt Lake City-based talent to provide on-air and online content in an upcoming convergence program.
Details are yet to be announced, but Armstrong, who was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 most influential women in media, couldn't be more excited.
"I am thrilled to be partnering with HGTV in the upcoming year and have been a huge fan of the network for many years," said Armstrong in the official press release. "In fact, I spent the first three months of my second child's life watching every episode of 'Curb Appeal' and 'Designed to Sell,' and now if called upon I could stage a house within an inch of its life. I've been looking to grow my business beyond its online presence, and having been approached by other media brands before I can confidently say that that there is no better partner than HGTV to help me take this step."
As for HGTV? I'm sure they'll be quite pleased with Armstrong's 1.6 million Twitter followers flocking to the network to watch the action. Congratulations, Heather! We'll be tuning in from our neck of the woods.

I have been on the net since the early 90's and have never heard of this fugly thing douch, but I will certainly steer clear of the show she has those crazed sex fiend eyes or something annoying
Replyreally?? HGTV
Replythat's going to be a new HGTV face?
Have you looked at it??
ugh!
I have never heard of her. My goodness, I don't want to be mean but she doesn't have a face that I would want to see on TV. The dog is cute though. Maybe they can just use the dog.
ReplyNever heard of her... Then again I'm no mommy...
ReplyI thought HGTV was an acronym for Home and Garden television. Her claim to fame seems to be as an avid viewer, and I wasn't aware that could qualify you as an expert on anything more than clicking a remote. If we go back to the "old days" the mission of HGTV and their companion networks was to inspire and educate their viewers. The last time I looked Forbe's was a magazine centered around money in some form or another, and that's what I look to them for; not advice on choosing a design expert. We and HGTV would be far better served if they went back to their former glory instead of trying to compete with TLC on who can make the biggest idiots in America a TV star.
ReplyIs that Jay Leno's sister?
ReplyI don't watch HGTV anymore. I am so sick of house hunters etc. Your program was much better when there was more gardening on the show [ Paul James and other gaedeners.]
ReplyThank you
Too bad nobody with cable will see her on HGTV...
ReplyWhat is her backgorund? What makes her an authority on anything. HGTV is going for the uglier this season. First, Antonio, now her. There isn't enough makeup in the world to help her ugly face. I certainly won't be watching. Dooce.
ReplyHGTV trying for a different audience? Antonio=NOT same w this new dame!! Re-runs? They must be trying to lose me.....and my friends. Weather channel getting more interesting every day!
ReplyHGTV has sunk to an all time low with this latest news. Really, what
Replydoes this woman have to contribute to the channel. I checked her
website last year to see what the big hype was about and what I found
was disgusting. She is a foul-mouthed woman who thinks she has great advice to give mothers. She has no qualifications. She has a blog that rambles on and on. She seems to think she is someone very
important. Give me a break. She is making a lot of money on her
website by writing about a whole lot of nothing laden with filthy
language. It seems like she thinks she deserves some award for being a mother. I am a mother and I have no respect for this woman. I will NOT be tuning in to HGTV to watch this idiot.
Right, because when TV networks give people "development deals" they also hire them to do the social media.
ReplyHere's what I think: She got a JOB at HGTV. BIG difference and not a big deal.
