In "Decor by Mood," we tell you how to attain a feeling in your home. Here's how to decorate a charming home.

So you were never the brooding type and charismatic? Well, most of us can only wish for charisma. Yet there's one characteristic that's as easy to infuse into your own home as the ABC's: Charm. Think colorful, bright and floral; the charming aesthetic is easier to achieve than you think.

If you're charming:
You're the gal (or guy!) that everyone loves to bring home to meet the parents. Aunt Laura dotes over you, and you've never had to pay for a parking ticket (even during that whole 70+ mph debacle). Get your home up to speed in the charm department and you'll be an unstoppable force!

The secret to charming decor is keeping it simple. Paint those walls white and keep the collections minimal for a clean, blank slate to make your decor stand out in the sweetest of ways. Throw in wired furniture and a hefty dose of florals for the fast road to charm central!

Not into floral patterns (me neither!)? You can achieve the same look with fresh flowers against a backdrop of neutral furnishings. Add a rustic bench, traditional lamps and a plaid ottoman to keep things simplistic, clean and charming as ever (pictured above)!

Primary colors work best when creating a charming setting. Try reds, yellows and blues in unexpected shades, or all three!

In the photo pictured right, the striped rug brings an otherwise monochromatic palette into a bright, colorful space.

Again, a rustic, re-purposed bench adds to the simplicity of the space, while a missing headboard breathes simplicity into a well-styled bedroom (pictured right).

If you're color shy, be sure to infuse small pops of color into easily-replaceable accents, such as the decorative boxes and lantern on the nightstand bench (pictured right).

As is in most spaces, fresh plants create a natural and calming aesthetic, perfect for the lover of charm!

Of course, white painted furniture and an exposed radiator certainly add to the charming aesthetic in a subtle way.

Another trick? White floor boards, which we've been known to covet for months.

Again, stick with primary colored accents (in the image pictured right, a bright cherry tomato red wins our hearts!) and you'll have the most charmed home on the block!

Can't you just see George Clooney, our favorite charming celebrity, dining on poached eggs at this simple, beautiful breakfast nook (pictured right)? One can only hope...
