Magazine slated to launch Real Simple Solutions line through retailer Bed Bath & Beyond.
Both MediaWeek and Home Furnishings News report that Real Simple is partnering with Bed Bath & Beyond for a line of household products, which will be called Real Simple Solutions. As you might expect, organizing and storage products are among the items in the line. The Real Simple line is slated to hit BB&B stores in March.
MediaWeek reports, "It's the second big product extension for the women's service magazine. The title already sells about 20 Real Simple-brand home-office products at 1,400 Target stores. For Bed Bath & Beyond, the magazine created the products in-house." With their reputation for high quality and good taste, we suspect that the Real Simple-branded goods will be ones we'd want in our own homes. The Target organizing products are all very handsome, and when we've seen them in-stores, they appeared well-made.
We worry the Target partnership won't continue now that Real Simple has teamed up with Bed Bath & Beyond. As we've seen in the past, when a brand signs on with one major retailer, a partnership with another one is already on the way out (no sooner had Martha Stewart announced her new Home Depot partnership than we learned that her Kmart deal was set to expire).
