A hotel room high in the trees has us planning a trip out west.

The Pacific Northwest is a hotbed of treehouse hotels.

What kid doesn't like a treehouse? For that matter, what grown-up wouldn't want to spend the night in one if it were tricked out as a hotel room.

After spying photos of Treehouse Point on A Cup of Jo, we've been having serious treehouse fantasies.

Treehouse Point is the brainchild of master treehouse builder Pete Nelson (Pete also teaches classes in treehouse building at Treehouse point). The property is situated in a wooded corner of the Snoqualmie Valley in Issaquah, Washington.

Treehouse Point has a main lodge with two suites, two treehouses (at right and below) and what the owners describe as a "deluxe cabin tent."

The interiors at Treehouse Point seem to reflect the B&B's woodland environment without going overboard with the woods-y décor.

Treehouse Point isn't just close to nature, it's trying to preserve it, as well. As the owners state on their site, "green principles are always at the forefront of daily operations."

More treehouse hotels:

The Pacific Northwest seems to be the hotbed of treehouse accommodations here in North America. A little digging turned up several other tree-sorts:

For those unafraid of heights, Cedar Creek Treehouse near Mount Rainier National Park in Ashford, Washington, is suspended 50 feet in the air.

Free Spirit Spheres, a series of sphere-shaped guest rooms suspended in the trees in the rainforest of Vancouver Island, Canada.

Treesort B&B

Treehouse Treesort (love the clever name!) in Cave Junction, Oregon calls itself a "bed and breakfast in the trees." Does that mean we can get pancakes in our treehouse?

Billed as a "non-religious retreat" near Crater Lake in Oregon, Gathering Light, a hippie-dippy vacation spot promises treehouses -- and perhaps a side of revelation.
While not in the northwest, we also like the looks of Treehouse Cottages in Eureka Springs, Arkansas – they've got seven treehouses to choose from!

Crazy for treehouses? So are we! Here's a post about the world's biggest treehouse and another about pre-fab treehouses you can actually live in.
