Bold, statement walls make a big impact on any room.

You've heard of statement pieces, sure, but what about statement walls? Rather than create a focal point with their furnishings, these quirky homeowners are bringing the walls themselves to the forefront of the room.

This post rounds up a few fantastic options that are easy to incorporate -- and make a massive impact! If walls could talk, they'd be gossiping about these beauties all over town.

The Look (pictured at left): A black and white graphic art piece transforms crown molding from a stuffy Victorian into a trend-driven space.

Why It Works: The black and white color palette keeps the aesthetic from taking over the teeny room, and the texture offers a more sculptural look, rather than a flat art print.

Try It: Jess from Make Under My Life created three chevron prints that look fantastic grouped together. Try it on a larger scale with plywood and some painter's tape.

Get preppy with a patchwork entrway. Photo: House to Home

The Look (pictured at left): An entryway wall has been painted bold shade of blue and then layered with a patchwork of white-painted fretwork in trellis and graphic prints.

Why It Works: A patchwork of pattern can be tricky on walls, but this entryway is less busy thanks to a base color palette limited to blue and white.

With the addition of a few fun, quirky accents in green and pink, the aesthetic becomes less grandma-patchwork and more preppy-chic. Something tells me Kate Spade would love this entryway.

Try It: Mix and match different styles of fretwork, or try wallpaper in similar color families. Stick to the same hue of each color to avoid creating a visually dissonant wall.

Mirror(s), mirror(s) on the wall. Photo: Sweet Home Style

The Look (pictured at left): A sweet Victorian bedroom looks large and in charge with a pattern of mirrors and light furnishings. A mirrored coffee table provides the perfect accent to white-washed floors.

Why It Works: By mounting rectangular mirrors on a neutral backdrop, the room feels less space-age modern and more traditional. Of course, sweet antique birdcages help with the historical vibe, too.

Try It: Mount a few inexpensive IKEA mirrors onto a neutral wall, divided with crown molding. Don't have any crown molding to work with? Try IKEA Malm mirrors, which are already mounted onto neutral wood and will create a similar aesthetic.

The Look (pictured at right): Here, a room goes from somber to sunny with an electric yellow wall. The turquoise cameo print and perfectly symmetrical black-and-white furnishings pop against the hue.

Why It Works: A bold color scheme is toned down with symmetry, providing a lovely backdrop of balance and class.

Try It: Pay attention to color. Pair fun color combinations together, such as turquoise and poppy red, melon orange and cucumber or charcoal and mustard. Sometimes, color alone can make a wall bolder than any pattern, furnishing or graphic print!
