Spring forward with these five easy updates! Photo: Decor8
Spring is finally here, and your ShelterPop editors couldn't be more excited. In fact, we've been dreaming of ways to dress up our homes to bid farewell to the winter chill and welcome in flowers, sunshine and crisp, fresh air. Check out a few ideas for how to bring the feel of new season to your home:
1. Opt for spring-inspired art.
Just as Rachel McAdams rocked the watercolor trend at The Oscars, your walls are dying for some light and flowy wall decorations. Showcase your light, bright watercolors, pastels and prints and send your heavier oil paintings into hibernation. It's a small change, but lightening up your walls with sweet, serene artwork gives my mood an instant spring-ready boost!

2. Surrender to sheer.
Freshen up your home by letting the spring light shine in through your windows and doors! Take down your heavy, formal curtains and draperies, and opt for inexpensive sheer panels when the weather gets warmer -- or if privacy's not an issue, just leave your windows bare.
Try It: Flounce Ruffle Stripe Curtain, $58, Urban Outfitters
3. Toss those throws.
Say goodbye to wool! Lighten up your look by removing the winter-y pillows and throws you keep on hand during colder months. Instead try pillows in bright colors like the ones seen on Decor8 at left. If you're short on storage, hide the clutter in a few wicker trunks -- perfect for spring!
Try It: Locking Wicker Trunk, $94, Amazon
4. Embrace the floral trend.
This spring floral prints are everywhere -- and they're perfect for a spring spruce up. Check out Target's Liberty of London collection of iconic Liberty prints. If your Target's already sold out of the wares, you could also try Garnet Hill's new Lilly Pulitzer home collection, which is bursting with pretty prints.
Try It: Lilly Pulitzer Lilly of the Valley Percale Bedding, $50 to $190, Garnet Hill.
5. Refresh your table.
Skip heavy tablecloths and linens, and opt for napkins and placemats in light colors for spring. A fun way to dress up the table is to create a springtime centerpiece to welcome the warm weather.

Hop to it! You'll be feeling spring-bound in no time!
