You dont have to spend a penny opening a jar, just take a butterknife and hit the rim of the jar going around the top or use the counter for the same effect and the jar should open no problem, i saved you even more money and time having to find and buy this worthless crap.
ReplyTHE BIG MOUTH PLASTIC 'SNAPPLE' SODA BOTTLES THAT I BUY AT COSTCO'S ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN...NOT SURE-IF IT'S BECAUSE THEY GET REAL TIGHT IN THE REFRIGE OR WHAT...WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE A SOLUTION...
Hi, I have trouble with my hands and find this an excellent way to open them, I also do this first and then use a rubber glove to grip it! Works nearly every time.
I agree! All it takes is a few smacks around the rim of the lid with a butterknife and the jar opens like magic!
To: PMjohnnysafer -- I was just about to type that comment but read yours first! My mom taught me that trick way back when, and I taught it to my daughter. Works every time. Although using the butter knife is a safer bet since I have quartz counter tops--I'd hate to put a crack in them by hitting it with the jar lid.
ReplyI can hardly wait for the TV infomercial. Then i can get 2 of them plus a bonus gift for $19.95+ s&h
ReplyJust slip a spoon under the rim of the lid catch it on an exposed jar thread and pull up on the handle until you hear it release. Nice and quiet and no he-man twisting.
ReplyI love how the Bambu spoon comes "quipped" with its own spoon rest! I wonder how funny the quips are-considering the source.
ReplyI did the tapping of the jar lid on the counter too. But for me, it is the actual twisting off of the top that hurts my wrists. I have osteoporisis and this small action hurts my bones a great deal. So a $5 investment on the jar popper was worth it! It WORKS! Now, I don't have to be in pain when opening my pickle jars!
ReplyJust take the pointy end of an old fashioned bottle/can opener (churchkey) and gently pry a couple places around the edge of the lid until the vacuum seal breaks. Be careful not to punch a hole in the edge of the lid.
ReplyHaha, go check out the sell site for the Whirl Wind cup. It deserves a place on the Engrish blog except I don't go to that website anymore.
