Lisboa's 'Book Cell' is a literary dream-come-true.

We've seen a building made from plastic bottles, and we couldn't help posting about its paper counterpart. Installed in the Modern Art Center in Lisboa in 2006, the 'Book Cell' was an octagonal building made entirely from books, created by Slovakian artist Matej Kren. Built with an octagonal framework, the building was a symmetrical, enclosed room of stacked literature.

The 'Book Cell' was constructed using borrowed books from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation that were already onsite at the Modern Art Center (the books have since been returned to the foundation). Although the piece was originally installed for six months in 2006, it still resonates with lovers of books and architecture alike.

Wouldn't it be fun, if public libraries across the world built their own Book Cells to excite young readers about books?
