The exterior is gorgeous and Mediterranean and doesn't feel a bit rock star. What surprises lurk inside? Photo: Antoine Bootz
Although Lenny Kravitz has moved on to other digs, in 2001, this beautiful villa located in Miami, Florida was completely re-designed for the rock star by New York-based design firm BNO Design. Before Kravitz and his design team got to work, the interiors of this home were quiet and quaint.
After BNO Design worked their magic, the once-traditional villa was transformed into a contemporary space infused with 1970s rock 'n' roll style and worldly sophistication. Along with the funky interiors came a quirky name -- the home was dubbed "Villa Roxie."

The living room is white on white -- on white. The mirrored side tables, fringed lamps and fuzzy carpet make it feel like a glam backstage lounge where you come to hang with the band before they perform. (I can just picture Lenny Kravitz draped over one of those fluffy throw pillows.)
That's not a piece of modern sculpture, it's actually the fireplace surround and chimney. Photo: Antoine Bootz
Almost all of the lighting fixtures in the home were created especially for the house by ABYU Lighting, BNO Design's custom lighting company based in Chelsea, NYC.

The office and lounge areas again feature all white furniture, but the dramatic wall color makes a huge difference in ambiance. Photo: Antoine Bootz

I find it curious the writer of this piece, Jaime Derringer, finds the name of Lenny's mansion (Villa Roxie) quirky. He renamed the mansion in Honor of his Mother, ROXIE ROKER. Real quirky, huh?
ReplyWhere the heck is the picture of Lenny???? Geeze!!
ReplyThe outside of the home is awesome. The inside? Eh, not feeling the 1970's theme. Some things from the 1970's need to stay there, like white shag carpeting and plastic chairs.
ReplyOutside is beautiful, inside....Oh, no!!
I wonder if this was his Love Nest with Nicole Kidman? As white as she is..I bet it was hard to see her in those white rooms......kind of blended right in,,
ReplyThat's funny, maybe she had to wear a red scarf so he could find her!
Is it just me or does none of that furniture look the least comfortable to lounge on?
GORGEOUS....every room!!!
ReplyTo much WHITE,,,,,,,,
ReplyWow, I find this extraordinarily unpleasant. Instead of the white being cool, I get the sense of sticking to everything.
