Singer Lenny Kravitz used to live in this high-styling Mediterranean mansion.

Although Lenny Kravitz has moved on to other digs, in 2001, this beautiful villa located in Miami, Florida was completely re-designed for the rock star by New York-based design firm BNO Design. Before Kravitz and his design team got to work, the interiors of this home were quiet and quaint.

After BNO Design worked their magic, the once-traditional villa was transformed into a contemporary space infused with 1970s rock 'n' roll style and worldly sophistication. Along with the funky interiors came a quirky name -- the home was dubbed "Villa Roxie."

Kravitz's fascination with the early 1970's influenced the design of Villa Roxie, which makes use of both clear acrylic furnishings and warmer, more tactile furnishings. The careful mix of eclectic furniture, texture and colors results in -- believe it or not -- a relaxing ambiance rather than a party one.

The living room is white on white -- on white. The mirrored side tables, fringed lamps and fuzzy carpet make it feel like a glam backstage lounge where you come to hang with the band before they perform. (I can just picture Lenny Kravitz draped over one of those fluffy throw pillows.)

The dining and living spaces throughout the home are dotted with touches of silver and shimmer, from an over-sized chandelier to the sparkly, dangling fireplace screen.

Almost all of the lighting fixtures in the home were created especially for the house by ABYU Lighting, BNO Design's custom lighting company based in Chelsea, NYC.

This white and silver bedroom with disco-ball duvet and hanging curtain seems a little over the top, but, really, what kind of bedroom does one create for a world-renown rocker?

Even the game room, while white, is a spectacular mash-up of two very different styles. A white pool table sits under enormous contemporary, club-like lights, yet they hang from a wooden Mediterranean-style ceiling. A lit-up bar and retro bar stools sit beneath a wall of traditional masks.

Colors were kept to a minimum in the public spaces, where the desginers using mostly pure white. Meanwhile, the home explodes with color saturation in the guest rooms (like the red room below), which is a BNO Design signature touch.

I find it curious the writer of this piece, Jaime Derringer, finds the name of Lenny's mansion (Villa Roxie) quirky. He renamed the mansion in Honor of his Mother, ROXIE ROKER. Real quirky, huh?

The outside of the home is awesome. The inside? Eh, not feeling the 1970's theme. Some things from the 1970's need to stay there, like white shag carpeting and plastic chairs.

I wonder if this was his Love Nest with Nicole Kidman? As white as she is..I bet it was hard to see her in those white rooms......kind of blended right in,,

That's funny, maybe she had to wear a red scarf so he could find her!
Is it just me or does none of that furniture look the least comfortable to lounge on?

Wow, I find this extraordinarily unpleasant. Instead of the white being cool, I get the sense of sticking to everything.
