Snag these simple ideas to get your accessories organized.

Hi, my name is Allison, and I'm an accessories junkie. But with limited storage space, my sizable assortment of "daily dressings" (jewelry, belts, scarves and sunglasses) tend to get jumbled beyond recognition.

I recently decided it was time to get organized, so I scoured the web for some simple-and-chic ideas to become a well-honed accessorizer. From this moment on, I'll be saying sayonara to tangled necklaces, missing earrings, wrinkled scarves and scratched sunglasses.

On a Limb
Add a little architectural interest -- and have a handy place to hang your jewelry -- with a nature-inspired branch vase. Simply anchor a branch or two in a vase with pebbles or sand. If the branches are too heavy, head to your home supplies store and mix a small amount of cement for a permanent anchor.

Go for Bust
A decorative bust serves as beautiful statues on a bureau, but it can serve a useful purpose too. Dress a bust with your everyday necklaces to keep them at a quick-and-easy grab.

One Lump or Two?
Here's a new use for pretty orphaned tea cups and saucers: Hang earrings from teacup edges and separate rings, bracelets and necklaces to keep them at a quick reach as you're rushing out the door.

Hide and Seek
Necklace tangles no more! Organize them on pegboards and conceal with pretty drapery to keep clutter out of sight.

Nice Rack
These wall-mounted organizers may be designed for the kitchen, but they can find a handy use in your closet too. Attach paper towel holders to the inside of closet doors and hang scarves to keep them wrinkle free. It's a great spot for belts too.

Tiny Baubles
Earring studs and rings often get lost in the abyss of the jewelry drawer. Instead, gather a collection of small ring boxes and label each with its contents. Place them all in a pretty box atop your dresser to keep the mess out of sight, but your accessories within quick reach.

Belts can be a tricky item to keep organized -- no longer with these handy ideas. Photos: Real Simple

Get Hooked
I don't know about you, but my belts constantly get jumbled, twisted and (the fabric ones) wrinkled. All you need is a little extra hanging space, a wood hanger and some hardware-store-bought hooks to create this belt hanger. You could even turn the wood so it's parallel with your clothes if hanging space is extra tight.

You've Been Pegged
Peg boards are good for more than just tool organizing. Hang one (or two!) in your closet -- it's a perfect place to hang belts, keep sunglasses from getting scratched and organize everyday sundries and accessories.

The best thing about spring cleaning is the wonderful feeling you have while cleaning and that when you get done the house will look and smell so clean.you look at it and say to yourself wow does that look great.,or what.

A branch on my dresser? take up an entire drawer with cups and saucers?
I think most of her ideas were ludicrous.

Absolutely. I agree with you. Pretty? Girly? Yes. Functional? No way.

Just because these ideas don't suit your room, it doesn't make them ludicrous. I have a walk in closet the size of an apartment and I love the idea of the bust to drape necklaces on. I'm going to get one for my center island in the closet. It will look awesome. I'm also a jewelry junkie and have literally thousands of pieces (wish my friends would bring them back when they borrow them) and this is a nice way to display things. I like the teacup idea too. Very cute!

I like it- I don't have any jewelry that gets tangled or needs organizing. I put the few things I own on a door knob! Not very artistic but if I had lots of jewelry these ideas look like fun and very creative. Like walking into an Anrhropologie store. Thanks for sharing.

For years I've put my necklaces on cup hooks on the inside of my closet door. It works perfectly!

I usually hang the necklace and or bracelets on the hanger of the item I wear it with the most, mostly the costume stuff. I have an old belt hanger which I use that hangs on the door where the rest is. Never tangles and I can find them quickly.

I bought the smallest stick on plastic hooks I could find and placed them in staggered rows on the mirror on my dresser, I hang my necklaces and bracelets on them.. always in reach and you can check to see how they look with the outfit you have on.

I recycle my hairspray caps/covers, putting them in the jewelry drawer or a separate box, kinda like the tea cup idea, perfect size for a couple of rings.....a bracelet or two, hang earrings. MIne are white, easy to see your jewelry and uniform in size. PS work great in office for different size paper clips, rubber bands, push pins, stamps and coins for the parking meter, etc.

Good idea Nancy! When I grocery shop I buy the half dozen eggs in the clear plastic holder. I cut off the top lid and use the bottom for earrings. The six compartments hold a few pairs in each. Also there are two plastic points in the middle of these containers...makes great ring holders! They are clear and small so they fit in a drawer nicely.

    Spring cleaning????
Who spring cleans? As I lay dying I doubt very much that I will wish I had washed one more window or one more wall.....It is an outdated idea that we have to clean in the spring. It goes back to those times when you had an old coal stove making sooty messes all over everything all winter.....I have not washed a wall in 27 years and no one knows the difference....

Yikes......things build up and time goes by so quickly, with all the polllution in the air we don't realize what is happening. The spring and fall cleaning from my growing up keeps me on track, and I don't always complete it in a timely manner, but it reminds me of what needs to be done..........hey, when I was growing up....the sping and fall cleaning was also the time to rearrange the furniture, it gave a new excitement in the family home.
