High-end designer Angela Adams makes friends with a well-known retailer.

Angela Adams, best known for her beautiful colorful rugs, has partnered with Macy's to offer an exclusive line of quilts and coordinating bedding. Adams' casual-ye- luxurious style seems fitting to be sold alongside Macy's other designers: Martha Stewart, Calvin Klein and Macy's own sophisticated Hotel brand.

The line, called Modern Comfort, features four patterns: Max, Ninna, Nordic, and Sand Dollar. The 100% cotton quilts will be accompanied by coordinating shams and two-pack decorative pillow sets to complete the look. Available this spring, the pieces will range from $30 to $200 and come in twin, full/queen and king sizes.

Adams grew up on the coast of Maine, where her influences included the sand and sea as well as the natural beauty of New England. Her early career as a painter left her with the desire to take her designs off the canvas, so in 1998, she and her husband Sherwood Hamill started Angela Adams Design House. She quickly became known for her beautiful rugs, but she also branched out to pillows, furniture, prints and now, bedding.

Adams' famous rugs are beautiful, but a bit pricey for us, so we're excited about even more affordable Angela Adams goods. We're also glad she partnered with a well-respected retailer whose prices are -- well -- within our reach! It's nice to see Macy's begin to take some retail lessons from stores like Target and partner with well-known high-end designers for affordable collections.
