Ice and a vacuum take the hassle out of moving furniture.

We love to re-arrange furniture in the springtime, but we hate the indentations left in carpets where the feet of furniture legs used to sit. Luckily, removing the dents is simple: Cover the indentation with an ice cube and let it melt. Then blot the area with a towel to absorb excess moisture and finish by vacuuming over the area.

I'll have to try the ice.

After the ice cube treatment, if the carpet dent is still stubborn, try "lifting and fluffing" the dent with a table fork.

You can also put down a damp cloth and then use a hot iron on the cloth, it too will bring the pile up. I would not vacuum a wet spot and ruin my vacuum.

I would be very careful with putting a cloth down and using a hot iron. I held the iron above the carpet and it burned the fibers.

I use my steam cleaner. It works great on indentations, and everything else!

I've dumped very hot water in the indentations and within an hour or so, they are gone. I use the Shamwow to suck up the excess water.

The ice trick works wonders. I've used it on many an occassion. It's easy and safe. I wouldn't mess with an iron.

My carpet installer recommended putting an aluminum pan on the floor
and put the ice cube in it to restore a dimple in the carpet. Thst will keep the
    carpet dry too
