ANSWER: Natalie Portman
In April of 2009, when Natalie Portman was mixing it up with Los Angeles-based musician Devendra Banhart, the East Coast girl splashed out $3.2 million for a West Coast outpost in Laughlin Park, a gated neighborhood with a long history of celebrity residents in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles.
The two-story, 4,886 sq-ft house was built in 1930, has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, three fireplaces, two guesthouses and a state of the art, celebrity-style security system. The updated and upgraded interior spaces retain much of the home's original charm and architectural detail, such as leaded glass windows and beautifully maintained paneling that covers the walls and vaulted ceiling in the ballroom-sized living room.
Previous famous owners of Portman's property include LeRoi Moore, the recently deceased saxophonist from Dave Matthews Band, Catherine Keener and Dermot Mulroney (when they were still married), and Grammy-winning musician Chick Corea.
Current property owners in the historic Laughlin Park neighborhood -- once home to Cecil B. DeMille and Charlie Chaplin -- include Aussie pop star Natasha Bedingfield, Ellen Pompeo and Christopher Ivory (see their home here!), will.i.am., Jenna and Bodhi Elfman, and Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix.
This is not the first house young Miss Portman has owned. In 2003 she bought a fairly modest 2,088 sq-ft house on Long Island in the upscale town of Sea Cliff that she sold in 2007 for $1.75 million. In 2008 she sold her 2 bedroom and 3 bathroom apartment in one of the much ballyhooed and celebrity-stuffed Richard Meier green glass towers on Manhattan's West Side Highway for $6.55 million
Although Portman only bought her Tinseltown digs a year ago, she is presumably spending more time in New York where her current beau, Benjamin Millepied, is a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet.
