Every single day, people all over the country turn no their televisions and let Oprah into their homes. Today, she finally returns the favor and opens the doors to her Montecito, California home...outside of her house. Yes, Oprah has a garden teahouse that is bigger, more beautiful and generally superior to most people's primary houses.

But it's Oprah, so no surprise there. She takes Nate Berkus through the house and its outstanding garden. Take a look:

...Except now they're in comfy wicker chairs instead of Oprah's posh studio.

And Nate looks on, dutifully. We'd comment on the fact that Oprah's compound is so large it must be traveled by golf cart but come on, it's Oprah. Are you surprised?

Rustic, understated wood and stone mixed with over-the-top lush greenery makes for the perfect picture of low-key elegance.

In a book that she calls her "greatest gift." Nate smartly notices that all the dogs are posed for the photo. Again, the things you get when you're Oprah.

Starfish decor, urn lamps and a pressed flower frame: So beachy, so breezy. We'd never guess this look for Oprah but we're not fighting it.

...But we're too busy contemplating O's green and beige color scheme. Too plain? Just perfect?

Oprah tells Nate: "I have to see the color of the grout going in between the stone."

OK, we take back any criticism of the green and beige color combo. It's winning here. And the beach gallery look just heavenly.

If Oprah pays attention to the color of grout, can you imagine the scrutiny of the rose color? Luckily, these are stunning.

She also made time to talk about her decorating philosophy and what her life was missing when she lived in a penthouse on the water with "lots of pretty things."

Did you ever stop to think that it was not Oprah personally who posted these photos. I, too, wanted to see more but also realize that this article and photos was not of her doing - probably AOL trying to cash in on her success and dry attention to its company owned site.

It always makes me feels so sad for Oprah. She could have had such a huge impact for good, but she chose to live a life of opulence for HERSELF. Poor wee girl from the wrong side of the tracks. That was all that moved her.

    ;0(((

Wrong planet to be talking about the carefully planned spending of extravagant riches.

I was disappointed to not have the opportunity to go on the tour of Oprah,s mansion with Berkus. Not only was this a disappointment I wrote her a serious letter and never received a response back.some time ago in regard to a disable person, who believed Oprah would respond to that letter of great need ,due to being incacerated in her own house, seeing how much Oprah helped others. All this person can do is watch Oprah,s Tv programs, and wonders why she never got an answer back from her.I encourages her by telling her the letter perhaps ended up in the garbage can.

So....where's the house ? I was looking forward to seeing lovely rooms...not a little furniture with some frames and photos...and a golf cart....I would love to see each main room and from each angle and see how it's decorated too. That's fun ! :)

I agree, where is the house and all of the rooms in all the mansions. It would take a day to go through them and her outlandish opulence of living would probably turn too many of her still fans off.

How does Oprah think her garden grows? Nature testifies of God. The susceptible mind, brought in contact with the miracle and mystery of the universe, cannot but recognize the working of infinite power. Not by its own inherent energy does the earth produce its bounties, and year by year continue its motion around the sun. An unseen hand guides the planets in their circuit of the heavens. A mysterious life pervades all nature—a life that sustains the unnumbered worlds throughout immensity, that lives in the insect atom which floats in the summer breeze, that wings the flight of the swallow and feeds the young ravens which cry, that brings the bud to blossom, and the flower to fruit.

"Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool: . . . but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word." Isa. 66:1, 2.

Men/women glory in "things" that will one day pass away. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15.

"Every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is Mine, and the fullness thereof." Ps. 50:10-12.
