In the heart of Costa Rica lies a hotel fit for Amelia Earhart herself. And I'm not talking your average luxury, chocolates-on-the-pillow sort of spot either. Labeled "the most exclusive hotel suite in Costa Rica," the 727 Fuselage Suite is a vintage 1965 Boeing 727 airframe which, in a previous life, shuttled globetrotters to and from South Africa.

Far-Flung Friday: York House is Pretty in Portugal

Until now. The York House in Lisboa, Portugal has changed my views -- one lovingly decorated room at a time. With modern, crisp furnishings and an incredible scenic exterior, the York House has had my heart going pitter-pattering for Portugal since, ohhhh...9am this morning. Once a former convent, the York House became a hotel in early 1880. Of course, the "hotel" housed one small oven and offered a spare bedroom for rent. Almost 130 years later, the York House has come a long way, baby.

Far-Flung Friday: A Dreamy Hotel in Greece

I often take virtual vacations to Greece, and in my mind, there exists a beautiful, light-filled hotel where I'm served grapes, champagne and cheese...in bed. And apparently, that hotel doesn't only exist in my mind -- it exists in the Doryssa, a Samos Island hideaway where dreams come true.
