The White House Kitchen Garden will be open to the public this Friday! Well, sort of. A replica of the garden is on display in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Located at W. Atlee Burpee & Co's Fordhook Farm, in a suburb of Philadelphia, the plot is an accurate replica of Michelle Obama's famous veggie garden that's been making headlines since it was planted last spring
Chia Obama Pulled From Shelves -- Again
Only three weeks after hitting the shelves at Walgreens' last April, customers denounced the product as "racist," and they were quickly removed from shelves. This week CVS announced that it too was removing the Chia Obamas from shelves -- just a few weeks after putting them up for sale.
Obamas Choose "Avant-Garde" Art for the White House
The AP reports that the White House is now home not just to the Obama family, but to the largest collection of modern and abstract artwork ever assembled by a sitting president. The President and First Lady have chosen works by little-known African-American and Native American artists as well as big names like Jasper Johns, Mark Rothko and Edgar Degas. President Obama even displays artifacts such as patent models on the bookshelves in the Oval Office.
